This Week's Front Page

As some of you may remember from last year around this time, being a New Yorker, I am privy to a copious amount of great music at all times. And, like the summer before, I took full advantage of New York City's music scene over these past few months. My main hang up, though, was that I resolved to stop attending shows at mid-sized club venues (something akin to Cleveland's Beachland Tavern and Grog Shop) and decided to focus my limited finances on numerous small club shows and a few special huge ones. Summer is usually a time for relaxing after a long, hard semester and reuniting with friends, at least that's how it typically was for me. Musically it wasn't far off from my normal routine as throughout this summer, some big name bands took the season as an opportunity to reunite. (0) comments
Friday, August 28 The last day of Thwing's Plant and Poster Sale has arrived. Add some color to your dorm room by using posters to cover some of the white space. Increase your oxygen flow with a lovely, fresh plant. Don't forget to take advantage of this opportunity before your course load kicks in. (0) comments

There is one thing I cannot stress enough to every college student I know: get involved on campus. (0) comments
Syllabus week: supposedly the most amazing, unproductive week of the semester. At best, the first day of classes is followed by Tipsy Tuesday, Wet Wednesday, Thirsty Thursday, and an epic weekend, full of toasts to the end of summer. At the very least, syllabus week is the university's gift to the student social sphere. (0) comments
